This recipe is a modification of traditional apple pies. You might be wondering why I choose to make them in the MINI form. A Word About Organic Apples
You might think because when you make apple pie you peel the apples so no need to buy organic. My general rule for eating organics is “If you eat the peel, it’s no deal!” However apples have very thin skin and are a crop that is highly sprayed with pesticides. On a scale from 1-10, 1 being super clean and 10 being super toxic, I would put traditional non-organic apples as a 9 even if you are going to peel them. I love this mainstream article on Forbes.com “Five Reasons to Eat Organic Apples: Pesticides, Healthy Communities, and You” .
