Ginger Lemonade

I love a good lemonade when I saw this recipe from the  Buddhist Chef I knew I had to give it a whirl!  It's strong but is a great way to gently detox the body this summer.  No processed sugary stuff just great natural flavors that will have them asking for seconds.

Ingredients

  • 1 2 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 6 cups water
  • lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Grate ginger with a box grater or Microplane. Place the ginger in a food processor or blender. Add lemon juice and process until smooth.

  2. Add water and maple syrup, blend again. (can use half ice if you want more of slushy mix) 

  3. Serve over ice with a garnish of mint and lemon slices
